The last Days of Judas Iscariot is a hilarious, irreverent, brilliantly insightful examination of faith and the concept of betrayal. The historical Judas is placed on trial in Purgatory, with a motley group of witnesses including the other Apostles, Mother Theresa, Sigmund Freud and Satan. Using pulsating scatological and colloquial language from our own time, through Judas’ trial we’re made to look at our own preconceptions and biases towards Outsiders and Others. Originally produced by LAByrinth Theatre Company in New York under the direction of Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is a lacerating comedy of no manners.
