ASU has just opened their 2023 Fall By-Election.

The ASU provides a wonderful way for students to be involved in the decision-making process at Acadia.

The ASU is divided between Executive roles, Senators, and Representatives.

The executive team works full-time through the Summer and part-time through the Winter to facilitate day-to-day operations of the ASU.

There are multiple Senator positions available.

Senators and Councilors are elected and do not work through the Summer season. They represent the voice of their constituency during meetings.

This election will give students the opportunity to run for Vice President of Finance & Operations.

This role oversees all financial operations for the ASU. Which includes supporting students’ financial training, overseeing government budgets, and monitoring the investment portfolio of the University.

Other positions include Professional Studies Senator, Theology Senator, and Graduate Studies Senator.

As well Sustainability Representative, Community Relations Representative, First Year Representative, and Councilor at Large are up for election.

Students are only able to run for the Senator position in the faculty they belong to.

The campaign period is scheduled to kick off on November 8th. The voting period will be on November 15th, and 16th 2023.
