Why Do Stars Become Supernova?

Why do stars become supernova?
Do they do so because they tire?
The eons of burning weighing them down.

Or is it their love that causes them to swell.
To shine brighter
Up there, in the firmament.

Out, out.
The spears of red
Of orange
And yellow.

Arrows of blue
Of indigo
Violet

The light it goes out.
Bleeding, bursting through the void.
Pushing back
The dull, featureless black.

And then they burst.
A cloud of flame.
A cloud of dust.
The seeds sown, for you and me.

So mayhap, that is why they grow and swell.
Out there in the depths of space.
To share their light and spread their love
Gifts only granted

By stars.
